On Saturday, March 30th, presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke will officially be kicking off his presidential campaign in his home state of Texas where he will be making campaign stops in three cities during the course of the day beginning in El Paso at 10am, Houston at 5pm, then in Austin at 9pm.
O’Rourke, after announcing his run for president earlier this month, stunned many with his record fundraising amount in the first 24 hours of 6.1 million dollars. He beat out rival Bernie Sanders who raised 5.9 million dollars in the first 24 hours.
Recently, a Quinnipiac Poll showed Beto O’Rourke jumping to third place at 12% behind Joe Biden at 29%, and Bernie Sanders at 19%. California Senator Kamala Harris came in 4th place at 8% of Democrat/Democratic leaning voters . Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll said, “Hungry for a candidate to take on President Donald Trump, Democrats and Democratic leaners put the three B’s, Biden, Bernie and Beto, at the top in a race where age, race and gender take a back seat to electability and shared views.”
Beto O’Rourke is going through a listening tour across America and is utilizing technology to further grow his following announcing that his supporters have organized more than 1,000 watch parties across the country for his campaign kickoff.
